Pixel Density Calculator
Calculate PPI/DPI for screens and prints
Quick examples:
Pixel Density
92 PPI
Low Density
Aspect Ratio
1.78:1
Diagonal (px)
2203
Physical Width
20.92"
Physical Height
11.77"
💡 What This Means
• There are 92 pixels per inch on this screen
• Total resolution: 1920 × 1080 (2.07MP)
• Consider a higher resolution screen for better clarity
Understanding Pixel Density
PPI vs DPI
- PPI (Pixels Per Inch): Used for screens and digital displays
- DPI (Dots Per Inch): Used for printers and print resolution
- Both measure the density of pixels or dots in a given area
- Higher PPI/DPI = sharper, more detailed images
Common Screen Densities
- ~90 PPI: Standard desktop monitors (24" 1080p)
- ~110 PPI: 27" 1440p monitors
- ~160 PPI: 27" 4K monitors
- ~220 PPI: MacBook Pro Retina displays
- ~460 PPI: iPhone/high-end smartphones
Print Guidelines
- 300 DPI: Professional printing standard
- 150-200 DPI: Acceptable for most prints
- 72 DPI: Web/screen standard (not for printing)
- Consider viewing distance - larger prints can use lower DPI
